Eternal Chronicles, book 1: Descent
Tobias, an Angel of Death with a human soul, is sent to the world of Titus, home of the Nienté- a variety of races consisting of centaurs, elves, merfolk, and other magical beings thought only myth. Human kind didn’t make it, having been wiped out by the Nienté ages ago. Yet not everything is as it seems- not even these aliens know exactly what happened in that last war.
He starts questioning what the Nienté haven’t considered for over two thousand years- are the Humans actually gone? It’s not as easy as it seems- even the people he’s travelling with- Rue the slave, Valesti the Valkyrie, and Rhiannon the princess- aren’t very inclined to help. To help is to be a traitor. The Humans were a cancer to everything they came in contact with- nobody was sad to see them go.
As Tobias maintains his Angelic duties with Valesti, he begins to wrestle with his disappearing memory. Will he learn the truth of what happened? Why are his Human memories vanishing? The Nienté authorities are never far behind and to be caught means death- not just for him, but possibly for Rue, Valesti, and Rhiannon.
In a foreign future world where Humans are believed to be extinct, an optimistic Angel is determined to prove them wrong.
DESCENT is 90, 000 word Sci- Fi/ Fantasy and my first novel. DESCENT explores the true meaning of sacrifice, acceptance, and friendship.
I have lived for many years as a foster child and have been long intrigued by how a person can fit in physically but have the sense of not belonging. With this work, I wanted a character who visibly stood out in every way, no matter where he was.
What do you guys think of my pitch? How can I improve?
